Sometimes I do things like this, remastering old painting that interest me and switch them to have a humorous edge. The actual painting is by Carl Spitzweg and it is called ‘The Bookworm.’  He inherited enough money in the 1830’s to become a painter, he also worked as an illustrator for the satirical Munich magazine Fliegende Blatter(flying leaves). Well who said you can’t do it all as an artist!!! Spitzweg, (such a cool name!) frequently shows his subjects indulging their middle class enthusiasms and gently pokes fun at their absurdity, with no formal trainingand judging from this painting, ignoring my silly effort he was some talent. YAY for Spitzweg! He died in 1885.
